Dan Bylsma was named as a candidate for the Jack Adams Trophy along with Alain Vigneault of the Vancouver Canucks and Barry Trotz of the Nashville Predators. It is awarded to the coach that has contributed the most to his team's success.
Vigneault coached a group full of great players in Vancouver to the best record in the NHL.
Trotz led an under-rated team in Nashville to the fifth-seed in the West with some great defensive hockey.
Bylsma guided the Pens through an injury-plagued season, losing Staal for the first half of the season and then Malkin and Crosby for most of the second half. He also kept the lineup going even when half of the players had started the season in Wilkes-Barre.
He may lose some votes because of blowing a 3-1 series lead to the Lightning, but it's supposed to be a regular season award.
